Getting Here
Come Arrivare
Casa di Margherita is up in Castelletto, a quiet residential neighbourhood on the hill that rises right above Genova's old town. You're a short walk from the Spianata di Castelletto, the panoramic terrace that looks out over the rooftops and the harbour, yet a world away from the bustle of the caruggi below. Our exact address is Salita Superiore di S. Gerolamo, 49, 16125 Genova GE.
The two main train stations are Genova Piazza Principe and Genova Brignole, and we sit more or less between them. The easy way up is bus 36: it's a single line that links both stations and climbs through Castelletto, so it works whichever one you arrive at. Get off at the 'Piazza Villa' stop, take the stairs next to the Carrefour supermarket, and about a hundred metres further on you're at the apartment. A standard AMT ticket is âŹ2 and lasts 110 minutes; you can buy it right on board most buses with a contactless card.
Flying in? The Volabus shuttle runs from the airport to the city centre and the stations in about 30 minutes, and from there you can continue with bus 36 or grab a taxi. A taxi straight from the airport takes roughly 15â20 minutes.
Coming by car? One thing to know: our street is very narrow and a dead end, so it's hard to reach by car. The easiest plan is to leave the car in a paid garage at the foot of the hill (the Portello / Belvedere Castelletto area, or one of the central garages a little below). Otherwise you can look for a spot on the street in the blue zones, which are always paid.
Castelletto is one of the loveliest corners of Genova to call home, even just for a few days â quiet, green, with that famous view a couple of minutes from our door. If anything's unclear when you arrive, send me a message on WhatsApp and I'll point you the right way.
