The striped cathedral
The Cattedrale di San Lorenzo is Genovaâs cathedral, begun around the 11th century: its façade of black-and-white marble bands mixes Romanesque, Gothic and later touches. Itâs in the heart of the caruggi, a few minutes from the apartment.
Entry to the church is free; in the crypt you can visit the Treasure Museum (Museo del Tesoro), with reliquaries and precious objects, for a ticket. Itâs a place of worship, so dress respectfully.
